
ANNA MCNUTT
Anna McNutt is a London-based writer-producer.
Her award-winning short films have screened at major Oscar®, BAFTA, & BIFA-qualifying festivals worldwide.
BabyThump, garnered a Vimeo Staff Pick, a UK Audience Award, and competed in the 2023/24 European Short Film Audience Award, screening at Aesthetica (UK), Clermont-Ferrand (France), PÖFF Shorts (Estonia) and Tampere (Finland) among others. It went on to amass 3,000+ views within 10 hours of its online release.
Her first project, For Him - a no-dialogue horror - won Best Screenplay at BIFA-qualifying Unrestricted View Horror Film Festival (UK).
Her latest, The Bunker, is a taut 16mm chamber piece set in a near-future Britain, starring Sura Dohnke ('Klokkenluider'), Evie Templeton (Netflix's 'Wednesday' S2) and Anna Andresen ('This is Going to Hurt) with recent screenings at Oscar®-qualifying Odense (Denmark), Newport Beach (USA) and HollyShorts London (UK).
Alongside filmmaking, Anna’s writing and photography has been published in Writersbloc, GoldDust, and The Smiths. Her poetry appears in Words By_ a UNICEF x NextGen anthology created to raise funds for children impacted by war.
Raised by an American father and a Yugoslavian mother, Anna’s creative voice is shaped by a multilingual, cross-cultural upbringing. Her work often explores identity, power, and survival.
She holds a BA and an MA from Goldsmiths, University of London, and is a member of BAFTA Connect and the Production Guild of Great Britain.
Anna worked on high-profile commercial and fashion productions - including Vogue’s 73 Questions - before transitioning to TV, where she supported Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer, Jane Featherstone, at Emmy-winning SISTER. She now works as a Development Coordinator at UK's leading indie film company, Potboiler Productions.
